Job Shadowing

On Friday, I went to an animal clinic to job shadow.
I saw a doctor declaw a cat. He ripped out the bone part of the claw. Otherwise the claw will just grow back. Another cat got neutered. I almost passed out so I left the room and drank juice.
When I was feeling better, I saw two dogs with  growths. I saw an x-ray of a dog who had a growth on his jaw. Then I went into an appointment where the dog had a growth on his eye, but the doctor got most of it off.
So that's my day at an animal clinic. I hope to do it again soon.

What an interesting experience, BurttBlogs! I know what you meaan about feeling woozy during the surgery. When my Chesapeake Bay Retriever Casco had her AI surgery in November, the reproductive specialist let me watch the surgery. It was very similar to a spay in that, after making the incision, he moved her uterine horns outside of her body in order to fertilize her eggs... but then, of course, instead of removing them as in a spay, he tucked everything back in and stitched her up again. It was pretty fascinating but also a bit bizarre/disconcerting to see my own dog knocked out on the surgical table! It was worth it, though, an ultrasound confirmed that she is pregnant with puppies due on January 13th!
